To provide a metal complex which can efficiently carry out electronic transition between an exited singlet system and an exited triplet system even at room temperature and has extremely good stability, and to provide an organic EL (electroluminescence) which has excellent storing/driving stability at high temperature, has high luminous efficiency, and has the small electric current density dependency of the luminous efficiency, and whose life can be elongated.
This organic metal complex contains the group 8 to 10 metal as a central metal and has carbon-metal bonds and sulfur-metal bonds. The organic metal complex is a new specific structure ortho-metallized complex especially having phosphine sulfide in a ligand due to the activation of carbon. The organic EL element contains a specific structure ortho-metallized complex due to the activation of carbon and represented by the stabilized organic metal complex.
