PURPOSE: To obtain the new compound for surface active agent, wetting agent or the like having a foam stabilizing and foaming activities by reacting a mono- or oligosaccharide with unsaturated oxyalkylalcohols and then reacting the resulting compound with an organosilicon compound containing Si-H bond.

CONSTITUTION: An organosilicon compound containing a glycoside group comprising a unit of formula III [R is H or organic group; a is 0, 1, 2 or 3; b is 1, 2 or 3; a+b≤3; R1 is group of formula IV (Z is glycoside group comprising 1 to 10 units of monosaccharide; R3 is alkylene)] is obtained by reacting a mono- and/or an oligosaccharide with a compound (e.g. arylglycol) of formula I (R2 is alkylene; c is 0 or 1 to 20; R4 is alkenyl) and reacting the resulting glycoside with an organosilicon compound containing a Si-bonded hydrogen comprising a unit of formula II (R5 is organic group; d is 0, 1, 2, or 3; e is 1, 2 or 3; d+e≤3) under heating conditions in the presence of a platinum catalyst.
