PURPOSE: To omit a complicated setting work and simplify the coordinate origin setting operation, by using a spherical block as an origin setting block.
CONSTITUTION: For the purpose of using ball 8 of the probe of radius (d) to obtain center coordinates of origin block sphere 7 of radium (r), the right expression is used. Since (r) and (d) are known, center coordinates can be obtained on a basis of the right expression by obtaining coordinates of three or four arbitrary points described by sphere 8. In respect to operations, sphere 9 is fitted to base 10 by screw 11, and the probe is brought into contact with three or four points of sphere 9, and the initial coordinate origin is obtained and is stored in a computer. Next, the direction of the probe is changed or a probe of a different radius is used, and the probe is brought into contact with sphere 9 again to obtain the coordinate origin, and the difference between this origin and the initial origin is obtained, and this difference is always corrected automatically, thereby obtaining a measured value without error with a simple operation.
