To provide an original plate for a lithographic printing plate in which the original plate suppresses the generation of development scum without lowering the developing speed and provides a lithographic printing plate excellent in stain resistance and inking property and to provide a method for manufacturing a lithographic printing plate using the same.
There is provided an original plate for a lithographic printing plate comprising a photosensitive layer and a protective layer on a support in this order, wherein the photosensitive layer contains a sensitizing dye, a polymerization initiator, a polymerizable compound and a binder polymer. The protective layer is a polymer having a repeating unit represented by the following general formula (1) and a repeating unit represented by the following general formula (2), and the total of the repeating unit represented by the general (1) and the repeating unit represented by the general (2) is 90 mol% or more based on all the repeating units constituting the polymer. In the general formulas (1) and (2), R1 and R4 each represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2 and R3 may be the same or different and each represent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or an ethyl group.
