To enable a heat exchanging plate to be manufactured without generating cracks or the like when press working.
An original plate material 2 for a heat exchanging plate is composed of a flat plate material 1 made of titanium, on the surface of which fine recessed parts 4 and projecting parts 5 are formed and is the original plate material 2 which is formed into a heat exchanging plate 7 by applying press working to the flat plate material 1, a lubricating layer 10 for reducing friction when press working is formed on the tops of the projecting parts 5. The projecting parts 4 on the top of which the lubricating layer 10 for reducing the friction when press working is formed and the recessed parts 5 which are formed by removing a part of the lubricating layer 10 by a laser beam 13 and by pickling are formed on the surface 1a of the flat plate material 1.
