Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent an original cover sheet from being stripped off by the sheet winding means in the original reader provided in a copying machine, a scanner and a facsimile equipment, etc., particularly the original reader capable of reading a book original.
CONSTITUTION: In the original reader provided with an original reading means 10 for reading the original page image of a book original 100 corresponding to the movement of a carriage 2, a page turning means 30 for turning the original page of the book original and an original pressing means for pressing the book original placed on the original platen in the spread state, the original pressing means is provided with a sheet winding means for winding and unwinding in corresponding to the movement of the carriage 2, plural original cover sheet 51 and 52 interposed between the carriage 2 and the device frame for pressing the book original by the original cover means at the both side in the moving direction of the carriage 2, and the sheet winding means is composed of the fixing member and the outer cylinder part for holding the original cover sheet 51 and 52 there between.
