PURPOSE: To simplify the structure and adjustment of a lens system by reading the original image of each region obtained by dividing a line by the 1st and 2nd photoelectric transducer groups with time shifts and then synthesizing those original images with time control.
CONSTITUTION: A photoelectric transducer group 14 reads the divided region of one side on the 1st line of an original 11; while the 2nd photoelectric transducer group 15 reads the image of the divided region of the other side on the 2nd line apart from the 1st line by (n) lines. The output image signal of a CCD chip 16 constituting the groups 14 and 15 is quantized by a quantizing circuit 17. The quantized signal given from a CCD chip constituting the group 14 is successively recorded to a memory 18 for each line and then read out after lapse of the time during which the secondary scan is carried out by an amount equivalent to (n) lines. The picture signal which received a delay control is synthesized with the picture signal obtained from the group 15 via the memory 18. Then those signals are collected on a line.
