Abstract:
PURPOSE:To avoid an excessive rise of temperature within an original reader by reading an object of reference density by an image sensor prior to the reading scan of an original and turning on a fluorescent lamp by preheating after comparing the output of the image sensor with the reference value. CONSTITUTION:When an original reading start signal is received, the control signal is supplied to a fluorescent lamp lighting circuit 11 from a CPU 10. Thus a fluorescent lamp 1 is turned on. An object 3 of reference density is irradiated by the lamp 1 and the image of the object 3 is formed on an image sensor 6 through a Selfoc lens 5. Here the output of the sensor 6 is compared with the reference value of a reference source 9 by a comparator 8. When the output of the sensor 6 is smaller than the reference value, the output of the comparator 8 is supplied to the CPU 10. The CPU 10 turns off a motor drive circuit 12 and turns on the circuit 11 respectively. Thus the lamp 1is kept on for a fixed period of time and a motor 7 is kept inactive then.
