Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an original size detector capable of accurately detecting an original size without affecting a read image.
CONSTITUTION: As for the original size detector for scanning an original pressed onto a contact glass by an original cover plate 1 by a scanner from underneath and measuring the original size from an original image formed on an image pickup element, the rear side of the original cover plate 1 is coated by a mirror- finished sheet 5, and also, one recessed groove 5a is formed on the surface of the mirror-finished sheet 5 other than a part which comes in contact with the original, in the direction vertical to a scanning direction by the scanner.
