Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively polish only the side face of an ornament that has horizontal surface not to be polished by revolving a container containing a polishing medium, within a vertical plane, and bringing the polishing medium of relative resultant acceleration of gravity and vertical acceleration received by the polishing medium in the container, into contact with the side face.
SOLUTION: At the time of polishing the side faces of temples forming a spectacle frame, a polishing medium is filled in a container 36 so as to occupy volume of about 60% of internal space, and a temple group with a large number of temples T parallelly arranged in a vertical direction is fixed to a fixing means provided on the inner surface side of a container cover. A start button is then pressed to drive a revolving motor 5. Four fitting frames 31A, 31B,... with the containers 36 respectively fitted thereto are thereby rotated at equal angular velocity integrally with rotary discs 12, but at this time, four fitting frames are controlled to be always in the same attitude, that is, to face a vertical direction, by planetary means 14, 15A, 15B,..., and the polishing medium is moved only vetically to polish only the side faces of the temples T.
