To provide an inexpensive ornamental body which facilitates a change in specification, prevents a space to occur between the casing and the ornamental body to reduce deterioration in appearance and is free from variation in external appearance and tone even after a long period use, and to provide a manufacturing method for the ornamental body.
The ornamental body 10 comprises a silicone rubber processed product 11, a colored silver layer 12 to be combined with the silicone rubber processed product 11, a carrier layer 13 to be adhered on the colored silver layer 12, a fixing double-sided adhesive tape 14 to be adhered on the carrier layer 13, and an optional mold release layer releasably adhered on the double-sided adhesive tape 14, wherein a coloring agent of 0.0005 to 4 pts.wt. is added to silicone rubber to process the silicone rubber processed product 11 to semitransparent state. Then, the required number of ornamental bodies 10 are tightly fitted to the screw holes of the casing body of a cellular phone or the like, covering the screw to improve a design property and to arrange appearance, thus displaying metallic gloss which creates high-grade feeling.
