Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ornithopter that exerts yaw control such that moment of rotation is caused from a lift difference made by left and right wings by respectively changing lead lag angles of the left and right wings and making them asymmetrical, without requiring additional devices such as a tail and a ladder.SOLUTION: An ornithopter 100 comprises: an axis 10 and opposite first wings, 20, 20 and second wings 30, 30, extended in a normal direction of the axis; first pivotal support members 41, 42 pivotally supporting the first wings with respect to the axis so as to freely rotate them around a roll axis and a yaw axis; a second pivotal support member 61 pivotally supporting the second wings with respect to the axis so as to freely rotate them around the roll axis; a swing shaft 70 that reciprocally moves so as to repeat approach and separation with respect to the axis; and an elastic body link 80 connecting the swing axis and the first wings and the second wings. The elastic body link swings the first wings and the second wings by reciprocal motion of the swing shaft. The ornithopter has regulating means 130 that independently regulates the range of rotation around the yaw axis of each of the opposite first wings.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
