Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enhance transparency and aesthetic appreciation at low cost, by using a fiber reinforced resin turned in one direction as a whole. CONSTITUTION:An orthodontic wire is composed of a fiber reinforced resin using continuous fibers turned in one direction as a whole. As the fibers used in the fiber reinforced resin, an inorg. fiber and org. fiber having high strength and high modulus of elasticity generally used in the fiber reinforced resin such as an alumina fiber, a glass fiber, a carbon fiber, an aramid fiber, an aromatic polyester fiber or a polyimide fiber are adapted. As the resin, both of a thermoplastic resin and a thermosetting resin can be used.
