Title:
ORTHOGONAL BALANCE MIXER CIRCUIT AND RECEIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1141033
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthogonal balance mixer circuit that improves the orthogonality between an in-phase channel signal and a quadrature channel signal, improves stability against level fluctuation and easily compensates for a DC offset. SOLUTION: A vector error detection circuit 25 detects an error in the orthogonality between an in-phase channel signal and a quadrature channel signal outputted to output terminals 26A, 26B and gives a phase control detection signal Pe3 to a phase control circuit 24. The phase control circuit 24 gives a sine value SINθ to a phase shift circuit 23, multiplies the value with the in-phase channel signal and the quadrature channel signal, inverts the products, then they are added by adders 233, 234 to control the phase so that the orthogonality is maintained. Furthermore, a vector error detection circuit 25 detects a gain control detection signal Pe2 to control a gain control circuit 22 so that variable gain circuits 20, 21 adjust the level. Moreover, the vector error detection circuit 25 detects a DC offset detection signal Pe1 to control a DC offset control circuit 19 to allow DC offset compensation circuit 17, 18 to compensate for the DC offset.
