PURPOSE: To provide an orthogonal biaxial mobile unit that reduce an amount of projection to the rear of this unit as small as possible even if a hand travels in the longitudinal direction.

CONSTITUTION: This mobile unit is provided with a first guide member 20, a second guide member 26, a slide member 32, both first and second driving rollers 34 and 36, both first and second motors 38 and 40, four idle rollers 46, 48, 50 and 52, other four idle rollers 54, 56, 58 and 60, a driven roller 62, and a connecting belt 64 whose both ends are locked to the slide member 32, and stretched across those of first and second driving rollers 34, 36, driven roller 62, and eight idle rollers 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60.
