Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve transmission efficiency by multiplying a coefficient less than the unity to a prediction signal using correlation of time base signals so as to apply prediction coding of leakage integration type. CONSTITUTION:A prediction coefficient circuit 10 applies prediction coding of leakage integration type by multiplying a predetermined value less than the unity with an inter-frame prediction signal (g) using correlation of time base signals to output a prediction signal (h). If the calculation accuracy of an orthogonal converter 3 and an orthogonal inverse converter 28 differs, the difference from the arithmetic accuracy in a decoder side, that is, the rate of accumulation of the arithmetic error due to mismatching as the elapse of time is suppressed. As a result, the time reaching a threshold level in which a periodic refresh has to be implemented is extended. Thus, the transmission efficiency is improved.
