Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out hole finishing with high accuracy without being clogged by chips by a rotating tool, grinding works while oscillating the tool at a low frequency from 5Hz to 500Hz, and cutting long and narrow grinding chips which have been cut by hard abrasive grain.
CONSTITUTION: The shank 8 of a reamer 6 where hard magnetic abrasive grain is stuck to a cutting edge part 7 is held by a chuck 9 which can rotate and travel in a vertical direction, and a work 1 is placed on the installation surface of a work supporting plate 3 where a tool relief hole 4 is drilled. Next, the hole 2 of the work 1 and the axial center of the reamer 6 are made to meet each other, and the reamer 6 is made to face the hole 2 of the work 1. Then the reamer 6 is rotated at a rotational speed 10m/min to 300m/min to start cutting process, and at the same time, low frequency oscillation is applied to the work 1 with amplitude of 0.1mm to 3.0mm and at frequency from 5Hz to 500Hz in the axial direction of the reamer 6 to finish material with high rigidity.
