PURPOSE: To eliminate an error as to a clocking information signal by an oscillator with temperature compensation for an electronic timepiece, by keeping constant the mean frequency of the output signal of the oscillator, equipped with two oscillating circuits differing in temperature-frequency characteristic, without reference to temperature.
CONSTITUTION: Output signal P1 of the 1st oscillating circuit 1 and output signal P2 of the 2nd oscillating circuit 2 are both rectangular waves and their frequency- temperature characteristics are represented as f1 and f2. Those signals P1 and P2 are sent to phase-shift detecting circuit 3, whose output signal P3 is divided by (n) at frequency-dividing circuit 4 to obtain signal P4, thereby actuating α timer 6. Then, signal P5 is a signal expressing the time when timer 6 counts P3, signal P6 expresses time β generated by a β timer, and signal P7 is generated slow-speed deciding circuit 5 to expresses f1<f2 or f1>f2. From signal P7, signal changeover circuit 8 judges whether either of f1 and f2 should be used as a frequency to be corrected while correcting the time determined by signals P5 and P6. Thus, an error as to a clocking information signal is eliminated.
