Abstract:
To further improve maintainability of an outboard engine.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 12 installed on a hull 11 of a ship 10 comprises an engine 14 and a cowl 19 to cover the engine 14. The engine 14 has an oil filler 23 to feed oil and an oil filter 22 to filter the oil. The cowl 19 can be divided into a top cowl 20 to cover the top of the engine 14 and into a side cowl 21 to cover the side part of the engine 14 when a substantially perpendicular direction with respect to the ship bottom of the hull 11 is a vertical direction. A whole oil filter 22, an oil-feeding hole 23a of the oil filler 23, and an oil level gauge handle 24 are located above a dividing line 25 which is a boundary between the top cowl 20 and the side cowl 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
