Abstract:
To provide an outboard engine with a novel structure taking into consideration handleability of a harness wire connected to electric parts in a lower unit for a configuration in which the lower unit can rotate relative to the structure above the lower unit.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 1 includes a driveshaft cover 16 covering a driveshaft 11 extending downward from an engine 10, a lower unit 40 capable of rotating relative to the driveshaft cover 16, and a harness 50. A lower housing 12 of the lower unit 40 houses a lower part 11A of the driveshaft 11 and a shift actuator 28 of one example of electric parts. The harness 50 is connected to the shift actuator 28 through an upper space 16B provided in the driveshaft cover 16 and through a lower apace 12B communicating with the upper space 16B in the lower housing 12 from below.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
