Abstract:
To provide an outboard motor and a marine vessel which can increase such an angle range that an outboard motor body is rotatable around a steering shaft while suppressing the increase in the size of the outboard motor in a horizontal direction of an outboard motor body.SOLUTION: In an outboard motor 100 (marine vessel 120), a steering mechanism 40 includes a pinion 42 which is arranged in a central part 102a in the horizontal direction of an outboard motor body 102, and is rotated together with the outboard motor body 102, and a rack 43 which moves straight so as to rotate the pinion 42. The rack 43 extends in the longitudinal direction of the outboard motor body 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
