To provide an outboard motor improved in output by providing an exhaust pipe capable of restricting exhaust resistance.

An engine 4 comprises a crank case 12, a cylinder body 13 and a cylinder head 14 arranged in this order in the fore-and-aft direction of an outboard motor 1 and arranged to support a crank shaft 11 so that the axis thereof extends along the vertical direction. An exhaust pipe 53 is provided to connect an exhaust outlet 52 of the engine 4 to a main exhaust passage 55 positioned under the engine 4. The cylinder head 14 has the exhaust outlet 52 formed outside the cross direction of the outboard motor 1. The exhaust pipe 53 has horizontal extension parts (first to third exhaust pipes 64-66), which, in a plane view, extend from the exhaust outlet 52 to an opposite side of the outboard motor 1 in the cross direction bypassing along the crank case 12.
