To provide an outboard motor in which a top cowl can be easily opened/closed.

The outboard motor includes an engine 4 in which the axial direction of a crankshaft 11 directs the vertical direction, and a cowling 8 for covering the engine 4. The cowling 8 includes a bottom cowl 91 opened upwardly, and a top cowl 93 which is formed in a shape for closing an opening part at an upper end of the bottom cowl, and suitable for the bottom cowl via a hinge in a vertically openable/closable manner. Rear ends of the bottom cowl 91 and the top cowl 93 are connected to each other by the hinge. A connection part of the bottom cowl 91 to the top cowl 93 is inclined in a rear-up manner when viewed from the side.
