Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine which can inhibit size increase of a ship body to which the outboard engine is attached while inhibiting increase of an entire length of a ship including the outboard engine.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 100 includes: an outboard engine body 100a including an engine 1 and a drive shaft 21 which is connected to the engine 1 so as to transmit power; a clamp bracket 81 attached to a ship body 11; and a support member 8a which supports the outboard engine body 100a so as to steer the outboard engine body 100a relative to the clamp bracket 81. The support member 8a includes: an upper support part 82 which supports the outboard engine body 100a so as to enclose the drive shaft 21; a lower support part 85 which is disposed spaced away from the upper support part 82 in a downward direction and supports the outboard engine body 100a so as to enclose the drive shaft 21; and a connection part 84 which connects the upper support part 82 to the lower support part 85.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
