To improve abrasion resistance in a gear used for transmission of rotation from a drive shaft in an outboard engine.SOLUTION: A first clutch couples a second drive shaft to a first drive shaft when a shift member is in a first position. A second clutch releases a first gear from the first drive shaft when the shift member is in the first position.
