Abstract:
To provide an outboard motor capable of adjusting the height position of a propeller at high accuracy without changing a trim angle.SOLUTION: An outboard motor includes a drive shaft 4 coupled to a drive source and extending in a perpendicular direction, a propeller shaft coupled to cross the drive shaft 4, a top unit case 2 for storing the driving source, a bottom unit case 8 for storing the propeller shaft, and a height adjustment mechanism 9 for adjusting a height position between the top unit case 2 and the bottom unit case 8. The height adjustment mechanism 9 includes a first member 41 arranged coaxially to an axis line C of the drive shaft 4, supported to be capable of rotation around the axis C to the top unit case 2 and having a first screw unit 48 which is coaxial to the axis line C, a second member 42 fixed to the bottom unit case 8 and screwed to the first screw unit 48, a rotational mechanism 43 rotating the first member 41, and a restriction unit 44 for restricting relative rotation of the first member 41 and the second member 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
