Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the germination of plants from sand joints by compounding silane compound having a functional group of hydrolysis as acqueous emulsion with sand.
CONSTITUTION: Natural sand such as river sand, crushed substances of ceramic industrial materials such as tiles, etc., or crushed substances of marble, etc., are used to manufacture sand having 0.5-2mm of grain size. Emulsifier such as polyoxyethylene, lauric ether, etc., is used to manufacture acqueous emulsion containing 0.1-20wt.% of silane compound such as alkyltrialkoxysilane. After 0.1-20wt.% of acqueous emulsion is mixed with sand, it is dried to have water content less than 3%.
