To prevent possible damage to the body of an outdoor unit and injury of a worker by precluding violently jolting of a charge hose when removing the charge hose used to fill air conditioner with a refrigerant.

A mounting plate 10 equipped with a two-way operation valve 8 and a three-way operation valve 9 to which are connected refrigerant pipings 6 and 7 to a room unit respectively is erected on a bottom plate 5 of an outdoor unit. An opening part 3a is provided on one side of a rear cover 3 composing a body corresponding to the mounting plate 10. A refrigerating circuit is filled with a refrigerant by connecting a charge hose 11 of a refrigerant filling device to a charge port 9a of the three-way operation valve 9. After the completion of he filling, the hose is removed. A retaining part 12 is provided near the three-way operation valve 9 of the outdoor unit thus arranged and the charge hose 11 is retained on the retaining part 12 thereby enabling prevention of abrup movement of the charge hose as generated in the removal thereof.
