Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wall increase without bending in the face or back direction due to radial compression by bending the prescribed length of both face and back in the appropriate place near the outer periphery of the thin wall discoid stock into a corrugated state to form the spread part.
SOLUTION: First, the stock W having the prescribed outer shape and inner diameter is formed with a suitable means, installed to the driving disk 3 of a preliminary forming mechanism 1 and supported with the driving disk and a supporting disk 4. However, the outer shape of both disks 3, 4 is made to be about the same as the inner diameter of the forming part to be formed. Next, the outer periphery of the stock W is pinched with both gears 10a, 10b of a forming member 5, the driving disk 3 is rotated while contracting the gap between both gears with a gap adjusting screw or the like and the spread part bending both face and back of the outer periphery in the stock W into the corrugated state is formed. By this way, the strength of the stock W against the pressing force in the width direction is increased, accordingly the spread part is not deformed in the lateral direction even in the case of being pressed in the radial direction with a wall increasing roll, whereby the desired trapezoidal wall increased part is surely formed.
