Abstract:

To provide an outer rotor type rotary electric machine capable of cooling the rotary electric machine with cooling fluid and restraining the cooling fluid from interposing inside an air gap between a rotor and a stator.

An outer rotor type rotary electric machine 1 comprises a stator 2 and a rotor 10 which is rotatable around a shaft center O and is arranged radially outside of the stator 2 via a prescribed air gap S. The rotor 10 comprises multiple magnetic pole parts 9 which are magnetized in a radial direction and arranged at prescribed intervals in a circumferential direction such that magnetization directions invert alternately in circumferential direction, a substantially annular outer peripheral part which is arranged radially outside of the magnetic pole parts 9, and a shaft connecting part 14b which is arranged at one end side of the outer peripheral part in a rotation axis direction and is connected to a rotary shaft 13. The other end side of the rotor 10 in the rotation axis direction is open, and oil for cooling at least the rotor 10 is supplied to the radial inside of the outer peripheral part. An inner peripheral surface of the outer peripheral part of the rotor 10 has an enlarged diameter part 31 whose radial distance to the shaft center O increases along the rotation axis direction from the one end side to the other end side.
