Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and cost and prevent fatigue breaking caused by repeated loads for a long time so as to improve durability by forming an outer wall in a sandwich structure where an intermediate layer is held between inner and outer layers made of composite materials.
SOLUTION: Outer and inner layers 4 and 5 are made of composite materials formed by dipping thermosetting synthetic resins in fiber reinforcing materials including high-elastic fibers. As the fiber reinforcing material, a carbon fiber is selected. As it has very high rigidity, the carbon fiber is useful for securing rigidity necessary for an outer wall structural material and setting the number of stacking prepreg layers to 1/3 or lower. Thus, manufacturing time and labor are reduced, and a weight is reduced. An intermediate layer 6 is made of a hard foaming synthetic resin. For this, polymetacryl-imide is suitable, which has tensile and compression strength, a large mechanical strength such as elasticity or a shearing strength and a good characteristic under a lower temperature. Further, good heat resistance, solvent resistance and heat resistance are provided.
