To provide an outgas generation inhibitor which effectively inhibits (curtails) the emission amount of an outgas such as ammonia gas to be bleeded from the constituent material of a clean room or a structure as well as a method for inhibiting an outgas-generation phenomenon.
This out-generation inhibitor is composed of a microcapsule, including a photocatalyst, attached to an outgas treating material. The photocatalyst is preferably of an anatase-type titanium dioxide before any other materials. The microcapsule is preferably of such a construction that the wall material obtained by an interfacial reaction method is an inorganic (especially, silica with high light-transmission is preferable) porous material. The method for inhibiting an outgassing phenomenon is to cause an outgas to come into contact with the outgassing inhibitor.
