Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain accurate outline segments by introducing a measure to evaluate an outline dot string as the whole and coping with even a picture which has an outline having round corners with respect to the outline dividing system for picture processing.
CONSTITUTION: A step 1 where points which are end points of outline segments and are candidates of outline division points dividing the outline segments are extracted in a certain condition, a step 2 where segments are applied between candidate points extracted in the step 1 and local outline segments as candidates of outline segments are extracted from these applied segments in a certain condition, and a step 3 where adjacent local outline segments are merged in a certain condition are included to constitute this system.
