Abstract:

To provide an output apparatus for a user, a server, and a contents distribution system for preventing unauthorized copy and use of contents and properly charging a fee while securing convenience of the user.

This output apparatus 120 of the user requests decoding information for decoding the encrypted contents from a key creation server 201 and receives the decoding information from the key creation server 201. On the basis of the decoding information, decoding is carried out by a decoder 121a. When output of the decoded data is finished, the decoding information received from the server 201 is deleted. The key creation server 201 receives a transmission request of the decoding information from the output apparatus 120 of the user and creates the decoding information to transmit it to the output apparatus 120 of the user.
