Abstract:

To obtain sufficient braking force for stopping a vehicle and to more efficiently ensure electric power even when the load amount of the vehicle increases.

An electric vehicle 100, upon detection of a change in the weight of the vehicle (step S1001), sets a target charging rate of a battery on the basis of a variation in the weight (step S1002), and calculates a required power generation amount for achieving the target charging rate (step S1003). The electric vehicle 100 changes regenerative torque of an electric motor 133 on the basis of a correspondence between vehicle weight variation, the required power generation amount and an operation amount before weight change, and the regenerative torque (step S1004).
