Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce printing noise when a printing mode of high dot density is selected.

CONSTITUTION: A printing mode is selected by operating a control means 2 to output electrification time data corresponding to the printing mode from a printing mode setting unit 3, whereby the electrification time of head electrification signal outputted from a head driver 7 to a drive coil 8 of a dot printer head 9 is controlled by means of an electrification time controller 6 based on said data. When a printing mode of high dot density is selected, the electrification time to the coil 8 is reduced to make printing energy smaller, thereby lowering noise level.
