Abstract:

To improve stability of welding condition by controlling an outside characteristic of a welding power source in consumable electrode AC arc welding.

In the output control method for a power source of consumable electrode AC arc welding in which welding is performed by alternately switching electrode positive polarity EP and electrode negative polarity EN, the inclination Kr of the outside characteristic of the welding power source is controlled in accordance with welding conditions. The inclination Kr of the outside characteristic is set at a first inclination Kr1 for the electrode positive polarity EP, and set at a second inclination Kr2, which is a larger value than the first inclination Kr1, for the electrode negative polarity EN. The first and second outside characteristic inclinations are each set in a manner stabilizing the welding condition in the respective corresponding polarities.
