Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a zinc primer layer to exhibit its excellent intrinsic corrosion preventability characteristic by providing a cast iron tube with a zinc primer layer, a resin primer layer of a specified thickness formed by an acrylic resin primer thereon and a finish coat formed by a finish coating material.
SOLUTION: A resin primer layer of 3 to 50 μm average thickness is formed by an acrylic resin primer. ≥80 wt.% of the solid content of the acrylic resin primer is composed of an acrylic resin obtd. by copolymerizing 5 to 60 wt.% (meta)acrylic ester monomers having an 8 to 18C long chain alkyl group, 5 to 20 wt.% α,β-monoethylenic unsaturated carboxylic monomers and 20 to 90 wt.% other copolymerizable monomers. As the (meta)-acrylic ester monomers, octyl(meta)acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl(meta)acrylate, decyl(meta)acrylate, or the like, can be cited.
