Abstract:

To provide an outside joint member of a constant velocity universal joint, capable of being efficiently produced while eliminating a deburring process, and to provide its manufacturing method.

An outer periphery chamfer 15b is formed on an opening side end face 15 of a cup porion 11 of the outside joint member which has a cup portion 11 for storing an inside joint member, with forging work, and then grinding work is applied on the end face 15. This suppresses the occurrence of burrs due to the grinding work on the end face 15.
