PURPOSE: To improve wear resistance by incorporating a specific ratio each of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, Cr, Mo and W into Fe.

CONSTITUTION: This outside layer material contains, by wt%, 1.5W3.5% C, 0.5W1.5% Si, 0.5%n1.5% Mn ≤0.1% P, ≤0.1% S, ≤3.0% Ni, 5W20% Cr, 1.0W3.0% Mo and 5W25% W and consists of the balance Fe and ordinary impurities. The high-chromium cast iron material consisting of such compsn. is made by a centrifugal casting method to the outside layer of a compound roll for rolling, by which the sear resistance is improved.
