PURPOSE:To obtain the title tableware being thin-walled and lightweight and improved in oven heating resistance, impact resistance, detergent resistance, food resistance and sanitariness by coating the surface of a molding comprising an aromatic polyester and an inorganic filler with a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:A molding is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. aromatic polyester composed of 1-10mol% units of formula I, 5-30mol% units of formula II and units of formula III in an amount ot give a molar ratio of formula III to formula II (wherein formula II is the number of moles of units of formula II, and formula III is the number of moles of units of formula III) of 0.8-1.1 and 30-85mol% units of formula IV with at most 250 pts.wt. inorganic filler (e.g. talc) and melt-molding the mixture. Separately, a coating fluid is obtained by mixing a siloxane compound of formula V (wherein R<1-4> are each -CH3, -H, -OH, -COOH, -NH2 or a group of any one of formulas VI-VII; and n>=1) with optionally a solvent, a curing agent, etc. The surface of the molding is coated with the coating fluid and optionally freed from the solvent, etc., to obtain the title tableware whose surface is coated with the siloxane in a coating weight of 0.00001-0.001g/cm<2>.
