To provide an overcap which can be removed from a can in a relatively easy manner if it is lifted by hooking a finger tip to a lower end of a pilfer-proof band and solving conventional disadvantages while a groove-like bead, a ratchet, a circumferential projection or the like need not be provided on the outer side of a cylindrical can, and a packaging body.

The overcap for a cylindrical container body having a flange portion comprises a disk-shaped lid body, a skirt portion which is continuously and downwardly provided from an edge portion of the lid body and equipped with a groove portion to be engaged along the contour of the flange portion of the cylindrical container body inside thereof, a pilfer-proof band continuously provided on a lower end of the skirt portion, and a plurality of folded blades which are continuously provided on a lower end of the pilfer-proof band and arranged in the circumferential direction. A tearable thin-walled portion is formed between the skirt portion and the pilfer-proof band, and the pilfer-proof band has a knob for holding the pilfer-proof band.
