PURPOSE: To enable an arbitrary area of a document to be specified as a projection area via remote control, and further enable the specified area to be enlarged and projected on a screen by providing the second placement seat on the first placement seat in such a way as to be movably supported in the direction of plane intersecting the first placement seat.

CONSTITUTION: This overhead projector is equipped with the first placement seat 19 to travel on a projector body 10 in the direction of the predetermined plane, a drive means 17 for actuating the first placement seat 19, the second placement seat 111 movably supported on the first placement seat 19 in the direction of plane intersecting the first seat 19, a drive means 110 for actuating the second placement seat 111, a control means for controlling the first and second drive means 17 and 110, an instruction signal receiving means 11 for receiving an instruction signal to actuate the control means, and an instruction signal transmission means for transmitting an instruction signal to the instruction signal receiving means 11 via remote control. According to this construction, an arbitrarily specified area of a document can be selected and moved for enlarged projection on a screen via remote control, when a commentator is away from the overhead projector.
