To provide an overhead transmission line superior in construction property, security and workability and to provide a construction method at periphery of a steel tower.
In the overhead transmission line, steel tower side end parts of overhead transmission lines 31, which are arranged across the steel tower, are supported by the steel tower through insulators 30. The transmission line is provided with the established insulators 30, a supporting unit 50 coupling a part detached from the steel tower, i.e., the overhead transmission line 31, supporting the overhead transmission line 31 on a side detached from the steel tower from the part in a stretched state and having a temporary insulator 9, fixing members 18 and 23 which are removed from the established insulators 30 and fix a part of the overhead transmission line 31 comprising the steel tower side end part pulled back to an overhead transmission line 31 side in the stretched state by the supporting unit 50 to the overhead transmission lines 31 in the stretched state, and a jumper unit 60 which is disposed across the steel tower 50, electrically connects the overhead transmission lines 31 supported in the stretched states by the supporting unit 50 and has a cable with metal cover 26.
