This overhead type transporter includes the guide rail 40 having a main rail having a pair of the rail members, and a branch rail branching off the main rail, an auxiliary guide rail 50 provided along the branch rail at the upper side of a branching region in which the branch rail branches off the main rail, a transport main body, a transport body having at least one pair of the wheels attached on the transport main body and moving along the guide rail 40 and a driving motor 25 mounted on the transport main body and moving the wheels, one roller 30 provided in the transport body and ascending in order to move the transport body toward the branch rail with the auxiliary guide rail or descending in order to move the transport body toward the main rail and a control part controlling elevation of the roller 30.
