Title:
ULTRASONIC ROTARY HORN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3200086
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make an ultrasonic rotary horn operable at a specific excitation frequency by constituting the ultrasonic rotary horn in such a manner that the phases of the movement of the excited end and the movement of the end on an opposite side vary, that the radial surface of the horn moves at the phase different from the excited end and that a single wave nodal point is formed at its geometrical center.
CONSTITUTION: The ultrasonic rotary horn is so formed as to be excited at a frequency from about 18 to 60 KHz and is composed of a solid metal object of a specified shape. The metal object has a radial surface 11 having first and second ends 12 and 13 and a revolving shaft 14. The respective ends are regulated by the surface 11 and the metal object is made symmetrical with respect to its axis. The diameter of the rotary ultrasonic horn 10 is specified to about 4 to 19 cm, the width of the horn 10 at the radial surface 11 to about 0.6 to 13 cm, the thickness of the horn 10 at the revolving shaft 14 to about 0.6 to 15 cm (the width is independent of the width of the horn 10 of the surface 11) and the weight of the horn 10 to about 0.06 to 30 kg. The diameter, the width and the thickness are so selected as to be adaptive to the target frequency. The ultrasonic energy of the target frequency is inputted perpendicularly to the revolving shaft and is excited.
