To provide an overheat protection device for a power supply code.
The overheat protection device has: a code which includes a transmission wire for transmitting power and a sensor wire for transmitting a signal; a plug attached to one end of the code; and a thermistor included in the plug and connected to the sensor wire. The signal can be received and/or analyzed by a detection device. The detection device can control a switching device for opening/closing a power supply circuit. The thermistor can detect a heat level. In addition, the heat level can be communicated as a signal through the sensor wire. The signal can be specified by the thermistor which changes a resistance level to the signal according to the detected heat level. The thermistor is an NTC thermistor and can be made from thermoplastic material or made of a ceramic.
