Abstract:

To solve problems of a conventional electric apparatus overload device such as, (1) requiring various bimetal materials since an overload protecting device suitable for each request protection characteristic needs bimetal material selection as a main factor, and (2) being difficult to select a suitable overload protecting device in the case of a highly efficient motor with a small ratio of an allowable maximum output current to a constrained current with a design of an applicable electric apparatus.

(1) At a tip part of a cantilever plate 1 of the overload protecting device, a structure adhering and thermally connecting a snap action bimetal 2 is applied. (2) For a setting operation temperature of the snap action bimetal 2, a specific temperature which is higher than an exoergic temperature at the maximum rating allowable current of the cantilever plate 1 and is further approximate is set. (3) On a tip back face of the cantilever plate 1, an adjusting mechanism such as an adjusting screw 16 for accurately setting a gap dimension between action parts of a snap action bimetal 2 and a lever 1 is provided.
