Title:
OVERLOAD PROTECTING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3040941
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overload protecting mechanism which can be easily built in and removed relating to even existing machinery by simplifying a structure.
SOLUTION: A mechanism has a transmitting shaft 2 formed with a first key groove 3 in a peripheral surface, rotary unit 4 formed with a second key groove 7 opposed to the first key groove 3 in an internal peripheral surface of a shaft hole fitting the transmitting shaft 2, first engaging member 8 received in either one of the first key groove 3 or the second key groove 7, second engaging member 9 received to the other groove and an elastic unit 10 received in at least one of these key grooves and energizing the first/second engaging members so as to hold an engaging condition with each other. When transmission torque exceeds a prescribed value to act between the transmitting shaft and the rotary unit, a slip is generated between engaging surfaces of the first/ second engaging members 8, 9, the engaging condition is disengaged, and an overload condition is avoided.
