To prevent an overturn safety switch from being turned on by the presence of a heavy weight or the like except an electric stove when the electric stove is overturned by providing a shaft capable of being inclined in its axial swing direction and emerging in its lengthwise direction by suspending this shaft in a through hole of a case, and by providing a push button and a switch to be opened and closed by movement of the shaft.
A shaft 3 is provided piercing from the outside of a case 1 to the inside thereof by way of a through hole 2. Moreover, the shaft 3 is chamfered in the through hole 2 and is suspended so that it can be inclined about the through hole 2 in an axial swing direction. A switch 4 is provided in an extension direction in which the shaft 3 projects into the outside of the case 1. A push button 5 is provided through the medium of a coil spring 6 in an extension direction in which the shaft 3 projects into the inside of the case 1. Even if the case 1 is inclined or overturned so that any heavy weight or the like forcibly presses the push button 5, the axis of the push button 5 deviates from that of the shaft 3, and the switch 4 is not turned on, but is turned off.
